Scottish Highland Dancing is a celebration of the Scottish spirit. Watch competitors of all ages showcase precision, athleticism, and grace through traditional Scottish dances performed to live bagpipe music.
Highland dance competitions are open to men and women equally. The movements are technically challenging, requiring strength, coordination, and years of practice. Each dance tells a story from Scottish history and culture.
The oldest and most iconic Highland dance. Originally danced by warriors celebrating victory.
Danced over crossed swords. Legend says touching the swords meant bad luck in battle.
Meaning "old trousers." Celebrates the repeal of the ban on wearing kilts in Scotland.
Named after Scottish heroine Flora MacDonald who helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape.
